Study Trip to Paris with Sup de Luxe: IULM students discover international luxury
An international experience to delve into the strategies and challenges of contemporary luxury.
Once again this year, twenty female students from the Master's degree program inFashion Communication and Luxury Strategies, accompanied by Dr. Elisabetta Modena, an IULM lecturer, participated in the residential teaching program organized with Sup de Luxe, the Institut Supérieur de Marketing du Luxe in Paris founded by Cartier and among the leading international institutions dedicated to training in the luxury sector.
The program, held from May 18 to 22, 2026, offered an important opportunity for internationalization of skills, allowing participants to delve into the dynamics of the global luxury market through lectures, meetings with professionals, and visits to realities emblematic of French excellence.
The lectures covered the main themes of the sector, from the history of luxury in France to the evolution of the customer experience and brand strategies, to the relationship between innovation and sustainability and the future challenges of brands. Particular attention was paid to the role of cultural heritage and savoir-faire in building the identity of contemporary brands
Significant activities included a visit to Le Bon Marché, a historic Parisian department store dedicated to French retail excellence, and the Fondation Cartier, a cultural institution of reference for contemporary art. The program also included a meeting with Virginie Ducatillon, founder of Adapta, who offered an entrepreneurial perspective related to innovation and sustainability.
Highlights also included a private visit to Maison Ducasse and Restaurant Alain Ducasse Baccarat, an emblem of the encounter between craftsmanship, design and haute cuisine, which allowed for reflection on the value of experience and heritage in the construction of contemporary luxury.
The Study Trip concluded with a reflection on the transformations taking place in the sector and the skills required by the global market, confirming itself as a significant educational experience and an opportunity for direct confrontation with international professional realities.
