Caligari Prize 2025: IULM student jury call open
A chance to experience Noir in Festival as a protagonist and contribute to the choice of the best Italian genre film of the year
Also in 2025, IULM University renews its collaboration with the Noir in Festival for the Claudio Caligari Prize, an award dedicated to the best Italian genre film of the year.
Conceived in 2016 and now directed by Giorgio Gosetti together with Giulio Sangiorgio (IULM delegate), the Prize is organized by Noir in Festival in collaboration with IULM and Cinecittà News.
Over the years, the Caligari Award has honored directors such as Alessandro Rak, Claudio Giovannesi, Renato De Maria, the D'Innocenzo brothers, Paolo Strippoli, Francesco Costabile, Andrea Di Stefano and Brando De Sica, becoming a benchmark for mystery genre production in Italy
A jury of students and fans
Once again this year, the Prize will be awarded by a popular jury of 70 young students and film enthusiasts, led by industry professionals.
IULM students will thus have an immersive experience in film criticism, actively participating in the discussions and final voting.
Screenings of the six finalist films will be held in Milan, in the Sala dei 146 IULM 6 (via Carlo Bo 7), from December 1 to 5, 2025. Each screening will be followed by a panel discussion and, on Friday, December 5, a special meeting with the authors.
The winning film will be announced the same evening during the awards ceremony at the Cineteca Milano Arlecchino, during which a special award will also be presented to Pupi Avati for the film L'orto americano, based on his novel.
