Mindfulness course for students

Students - 22 April 2020

From Monday, April 27th a Mindfulness course for IULM students will start, through Teams, held by our psychologist and trainer, Dr. Stefano Bellantonio

IULM offers our students a practical help to reduce stress and increase the ability to concentrate, during this particular time, when it's easy to feel strained and disconnected and it's more difficult to focus on our priorities and projects.

The Mindfulness program starts next Monday, on April 27th, at 5.00 pm, on Teams. Click here to participate.

Every Monday, for 8 weeks, our M.S.Psych and trainer Stefano Bellantonio will lead a 50 minutes session, with practical activities to boost concentration and attention. The practice is relaxing, so we recommend you pick a quiet room and wear comfortable clothes.

FAQ:

  • It's my first time, can I join / try?
Yes, the sessions are for beginners and for intermediates. Experts can join, to enjoy a group practice.

  • It's recommended to participate in all the weekly sessions, but is it a problem to skip one?
Regular practice is the key for efficacy and long term results in mindfulness.
That's why it's not recommended to skip sessions.
For those who come to every session, it's not a big problem to skip just one, if needed.

  • Is it possible to skip sessions?
Those who will do, for example, only the first and last sessions, will only enjoy temporary results.
Even if we don't recommend this option, we allow it, because one session is still better than no sessions for the person who need it. One will get the short term benefits.

  • Is it possible to participate on Monday in English AND on Thursday in Italian?
Yes, it is. Sometimes it's easier to practice in a group than alone, so this can be a good way to have two weekly sessions.

  • Do I need something in particular?
You're going to need a quiet room, where you can stay undisturbed for 50 minutes, something soft to sit on (a bed / a mat / a blanket / etc), comfortable clothes, eventually headphones/earplugs for your audio.
