Professor Mauro Ceruti awarded the Key to Europe 2026

Docenti - 20 March 2026

IULM University celebrates the recognition awarded to Professor Mauro Ceruti, a professor at the University and director of the Complex Systems Research Center, who was awarded the La Chiave d'Europa 2026 Prize together with philosopher Edgar Morin.

The award, sponsored by the La Nuova Europa Association and the Municipality of Ventotene, enhances the contribution of the two scholars to the debate on the values and future of Europe, starting with the volume Our Europe (2025), which proposes a reflection on the role of European integration in the context of contemporary global challenges.

The ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at 11 a.m. in the Aula Magna of Liceo Mamiani. The award will be presented to Professor Ceruti, while Edgar Morin will speak via a link from Paris.

The Key to Europe Award, established in 2017, is given to personalities who have distinguished themselves in strengthening European identity and promoting the values of integration, dialogue and cooperation among peoples.
