IULM at Milan Film Fest

A dialogue between professor Gianni Canova and the newly appointed director of the Milano Film Fest, actor Claudio Santamaria, and then a masterclass by IULM lecturer Giuseppe Carrieri: these are two of the many encounters in the rich schedule of the revamped Milano Film Fest, which opens today and runs through June 8.

Canova and Santamaria will be the protagonists of a meeting with an ambitious title, What is cinema?, which will be moderated by Andrea Chimento, film critic for Sole 24 ore and professor at Università Cattolica. On June 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Piccolo Teatro, Gianni Canova and Claudio Santamaria will try to understand how cinema can be defined, especially in light of the technological revolutions it has experienced in recent years.

The care of the gaze, on the other hand, is the title of the masterclass that Carrieri will hold on June 6 at 12 p.m. at the Panoramic Hall of the Castello Sforzesco. The masterclass, which bears the subtitle The Director and the Image of Desires, will delve into the creative labyrinth of the filmic process, a place in which to learn to "get lost."

These will be two appointments of the many that the festival offers: screenings, of course, but also meetings, panel discussions, masterclasses.
