First-Semester Classes Are Underway: Everything You Need to Know

Today, September 21, classes for the first semester begin. For freshmen, university life officially begins: here are the resources, services, and key dates to keep in mind to make the most of your first few weeks at IULM.

Set up your IULM email

Log in to mail.studenti.iulm.it using your student account credentials. You’ll receive the University’s most important communications and updates in your IULM email inbox.

Remember to always use your institutional email address when writing to university offices.

Discover the digital tools

The main platforms that will support you throughout your university journey are:

• Be IULM, which puts your university ID, administrative services, the academic calendar, and the Blackboard community right at your fingertips;
• Blackboard, to access the university community and view syllabi, assignments, and midterm exam results;
• Digger, the IULM Library’s online catalog, where you can search for, reserve, and check out books, as well as access e-journals, articles, and films.

View classes, schedules, and classrooms

Through theWeb Calendar , you can view the class and exam schedule, check classrooms and times, and schedule or manage appointments with administrative offices.

Connect to Campus Services

On campus, you can connect to the Wi-Fi network via Eduroam. With your university credentials, you can also use Microsoft Office 365 for free on up to five devices.

Manage Your Academic Career

The Online Registrar’s Office allows you to register for exams, pay tuition fees, print certificates, renew your enrollment, complete your study plan, and fill out evaluation questionnaires.

On MyIULM , you’ll find the academic calendar, course syllabi, regulations regarding internships and workshops, and other useful information for your academic journey.

Academic Year Dates

First-semester classes will take place from September 21 to December 19, 2026. The second semester will begin on February 15, 2027, and end on May 22, 2027.

Exam sessions are scheduled for:

• January 7 through February 13, 2027;
• May 24 through June 30, 2027;
• August 24 through September 18, 2027.

University Closures

During the academic year, the University will be closed on the following dates:

• November 1, 2026;
• December 7–8, 2026;
• December 24, 2026, through January 6, 2027;
• March 26–30, 2027;
• April 25, 2027;
• May 1, 2027;
• June 2, 2027.

Key Deadlines

During the academic year, there are several important deadlines to keep track of:

• completion of the study plan: from September 29 to October 20, 2026, and from February 23 to March 11, 2027;
• Application for tuition fee bracket assignment: January 12 through November 27, 2026;
• Application for subsidized meal plans: by December 20, 2026;
• Erasmus and mobility program applications: between January and February 2027;
• University scholarships: publication of calls for applications between February and April 2027;
• Housing application period: between May and June 2027.

University life isn’t just about classes and exams. Throughout the year, you can participate in sports, cultural, and educational activities, events, masterclasses, and the many initiatives organized by the University.

Tryouts to join the IULM Sport teams will also take place between September and November 2026.
