ICDES 2027: Call for Papers Now Open for the International Conference at Università IULM
Until 31 October 2026, researchers, academics, and professionals are invited to submit their abstracts for ICDES 2027 – International Conference on Destinations, Events and Sports, which will take place at Università IULM from 6 to 9 June 2027.
Presenting research, engaging with an international scientific community, and contributing to the debate on the future of tourism, events, and sport: these are the objectives of the Call for Papers for ICDES 2027 – International Conference on Destinations, Events and Sports, which will be held at Università IULM from 6 to 9 June 2027.
Organised by Università IULM in collaboration with the University of Central Florida, Hokkaido University, and Doshin EC, the conference will bring together scholars, researchers, professionals, businesses, and institutions to discuss the transformations shaping the tourism, events, and sport industries. Key topics will include sustainability, innovation, destination management, resilience, marketing and social media, emerging technologies, family businesses in tourism, fashion and lifestyle, and cultural and creative industries.
Milan will host this second edition at a particularly significant moment. Following the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, the city offers an ideal setting for discussing the legacy of major events and their impact on destination development.

Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper to one of the partner journals through an accelerated review process.

- 20 December 2026 – Notification of acceptance
- 1 February – 14 March 2027 – Early Bird Registration
- 15 March – 15 May 2027 – Regular Registration
- 6–9 June 2027 – ICDES 2027 at Università IULM
All abstracts must be submitted in English and will undergo a double-blind peer review process conducted by the International Scientific Committee.
