A Poetry Course for Milan

The course will take place between May and October 2022 at IULM University and Teatro Litta . There will be five academic lessons, held by some of the most important Italian experts in poetry, and a cycle of ten workshop lessons. At the end of the course, in the spaces of the Litta Theatre , the best poems of the students will be read, as part of the poetry festival "Poetry, public action" (end of September-beginning of October 2022). The best poems of each student and the texts of the academic lessons will be published in a small printed volume in early 2023.

The direction of the courses is by Paolo Giovannetti, professor at IULM, and by Tommaso Di Dio, poet and teacher, responsible in particular for the seminars. The secretary of the course is Marilina Ciaco, poet and scholar.

Twenty people will be admitted to the course, through selection. The selection will be made by the direction of the course and the secretariat.

The candidatures must be sent, within 23:59 of April 30, 2022, by e-mail, to[email protected]

In the email, a word file must be attached, with the following data

• personal details (name, surname, date of birth, telephone number, email)
• a self-presentation of no more than 2000 characters (including spaces)
• a selection of five texts (poems or short prose), for a total of no more than 10,000 characters (including spaces), considered useful to the artistic characterization of the candidacy.

The commission will then draw up a merit list, and will admit the first twenty candidates to the courses. In case of renouncements, the first of the excluded candidates will be drawn progressively.

The procedure will be completed by May 20, 2022.

Attached to this announcement is the calendar of lessons, which may undergo only minor variations.
