All Upcoming IULM Events

From November 23 to 29, 2026, BookCity Milano, the event dedicated to reading and books that engages the entire city. The theme chosen for the 15th edition is “Il senno sulla Luna” (Wisdom on the Moon): a reflection inspired by the work of Ludovico Ariosto that explores the disorientation of the present and seeks, through the written word and critical thinking, to rediscover the ability to engage in dialogue and understand the world.

IULM University is participating with two events on the BCM26 schedule and a rich program of meetings open to the public and the academic community.

Below is the complete program:

Events on the BookCity Schedule

Is the university textbook in crisis?

November 25 – 4:00 p.m. – Sala dei 146 – IULM 6
Guests: Emanuela Costanzo, Francesco Crepaldi (Portfolio Manager at Pearson), Roberto Revello (Editor-in-Chief and Head of Mimesis), Matilde Palmero and Samuele Panzini (UniLifeDuo, digital creators), Gabriele Vicario (IULM graduate)
Moderators: Renato Boccali, Paolo Giovannetti
Librarians, university professors, publishers, and young students and recent graduates seek to understand what has become of the traditional university textbook, how it is approached today, how it is purchased, and how libraries make it available. In the age of artificial intelligence, do young scholars read “the way they used to”? Has the book retained its cohesion, or has it fragmented into a collection of separate essays? And what about the many summaries that discourage direct reading?

Noemi’s Voice: One in a Hundred Thousand—Between Words and Commitment

November 25 – 5:00 p.m. – Auditorium – IULM 6
Guest: Noemi
Moderators: Paolo Giovannetti, Marta Piazza
Singer Noemi will be a guest at IULM on the day dedicated to the fight against violence against women. In Italy, that same evening, RAI will broadcast in prime time the concert held on September 21 at the Arena di Verona, organized by the “Una nessuna centomila” Association. The career of a singer-songwriter like Noemi clearly reflects certain characteristics of today’s “pop” music scene: the importance of talent shows, a solid musical background, participation in festivals—Sanremo foremost among them—and a busy concert schedule. What does it mean to be a woman in the world of music? Is there (still) a place for women in an industry that seems to be all about looks and feel-good sounds?
