Update on the March 2020 graduation session

Students - 14 March 2020

Due to the health emergency of the last few weeks and the consequent strict government regulations, IULM University has deemed it appropriate to allow undergraduate students to choose whether to postpone the graduation exam or to graduate in any case on time. The undergraduates who opt to postpone the graduation exam will not go "off course", will not pay any additional cost and will graduate in an extension of the 3rd session of the academic year 2018/19, which will be held, barring unforeseen circumstances, in the first half of next July.

There will be no problems for those who are enrolled in a IULM Master's degree course at a.y. 2019/20: simply, the registration "with reservation" will be extended until July (any doubts in this sense can be quickly clarified by writing to [email protected]).

Graduate students who have the need and/or the will to graduate in March/April will have to answer by March 15 to the email they received from the Rector at her or his address @studenti.iulm.it".

The following clarifications apply to them

  • The graduation sessions will be entirely telematic: both the graduate and the members of the Commission will be connected online.
  • Although carried out in telematic mode, these are degree sessions for all intents and purposes, which end with the achievement of the title in the same way as a traditional session. Specifically: for three-year degrees, the graduate will discuss the final paper electronically and a few days later will find the degree vote in the online secretary's desk; for master's degrees, the proclamation will take place at the end of the online session, with the communication of the degree vote.
  • The degree session will be rescheduled according to the number of undergraduates and the particular emergency conditions we are experiencing: the published calendar therefore is not valid so far, and the session will be reorganized between March and April. Interested parties will receive the appropriate communication not before next March 19th at the earliest.
  • It is the precise will of the University to organize, after the emergency period, a ceremony for the delivery of the parchments ("graduation day") for all graduates (three-year and masterly) in March, so that you can celebrate with family and friends the important goal achieved.
  • The printed thesis cannot, of course, be withdrawn during this period, due to the known travel restrictions: the withdrawal will be made later, while the Commission will view the paper in electronic format. The Press Centre will give instructions for the payment of any additional copies requested.

The Student Secretariat is at the students' disposal for any further clarification.
