Screening of the movie "Little Miss Sunshine"
October 22, 2026, in Room 401 at 4:30 p.m.
As part of the events marking World Mental Health Day, on Thursday, October 22, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 401 (IULM 4), the film Little Miss Sunshine (directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Farris, 2006)—a humorous road movie about a dysfunctional family—will be screened.
Introduced by psychologist Stefano Bellantonio and discussed by IULM lecturer Riccardo Caccia, the film addresses sensitive and delicate themes through the lens of comedy, yet in a manner that is neither superficial nor “lighthearted.” Winner of two Oscars (Best Original Screenplay — Michael Arndt — and Best Supporting Actor — Alan Arkin) — Little Miss Sunshine follows a family traveling in a Volkswagen minivan from New Mexico to California, where young Olive is set to compete in the Miss America pageant preliminaries.
The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles.
