CURRENT POSITION

Associate Professor of Contemporary Italian Literature at the Department of Humanities Studies, she teaches Italian language and literature at the Bachelor’s degree in Interpretariato e comunicazione and at the Bachelor’s degree in Lingue, cultura e comunicazione digitale, where she is the supervisor. She is Erasmus coordinator for the Faculty of Interpretariato e traduzione.

RESEARCH LINES

Silvia T. Zangrandi's research focuses on Italian Literature of XIX and XX century. She is an expert in Fantastic Literature, she has published theoretical volumes on the Fantastic of Twentieth century and several essays regarding Dino Buzzati, Primo Levi, Giorgio Manganelli, Antonio Tabucchi, Igino Ugo Tarchetti.  For the published studies, in 2005 she was awarded the Prize Per conoscere Dino Buzzati. She is part of the research group Vertentes do Fantástico na Literatura dell'UNESP (Universidade Estadual Paulista - Brasil). She is a member of several scientific committees of Italian and foreign journals. In recent years, she has mainly focused her research on the relationship that Neofantastic entertains with science, technology and ecology. She also deals with the relationship between literature and journalism, with women's literature – in particular, Grazia Deledda, Elsa Morante, Anna Maria Ortese, Melania G. Mazzucco -, with the study of literary onomastics (her volume Fanta-onomastica. Scorribande onomastiche nella letteratura fantastica del Novecento received the Award Eccellenze IULM in 2018) and the ethics of care. Finally, for years she has been involved in writing workshop, whose results have been conveyed in the volume In poche parole. Riassunto e abstract: modelli e strategie. She holds the National Scientific Qualification as a first level professor 10/F2 (L-FIL-LETT/11 Contemporary Italian Literature)
