CURRENT POSITION
Contract holder for official course in History of Arabic Culture and Language.
An Arabist and Islamologist, he completed his studies at the University "L'Orientale" in Naples and the Pontifical Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome. He received his PhD in Humanistic Studies, Tradition and Contemporaneity (Religious Sciences) from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan. In February 2023, he obtained the Habilitation as Associate Professor ("ASN") in Italy for the Concurrent Sector 11/N1 - Cultures of the Ancient Near East, Middle East and Africa. He is a member of several international associations and research groups including: International Qur'anic Studies Association (IQSA); Qur'anic Linguistics Research Group (QLG); European Academy of Religion (EUARE); University Platform for Research on Islam in Europe and Lebanon (PLURIEL).
He taught Italian Language and Culture for three years at the Salesian Don Bosco Institute in Cairo, Egypt. He has been a member of the Islam Group of the National Office for Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI).
LINES OF RESEARCH
His research interests mainly concern Quranic studies, Islamic-Christian dialogue and the presence of Muslim pupils in the Italian educational system. Among his publications:
