Journalist; he was the director for "Mondo Economico" and "Sole-24 Ore"; he collaborates with Sole-24 Ore, and with Radio24 with a weekly column dedicated to books.
Currently, he is president of the College of Milan Universities; of the Piccolo teatro of Milan; of the Einaudi Centre of Turin; vice-president of the Ente Lac of Lugano; of the Fondazione Sicilia of Palermo; board member of IULM University, director of the School of Communication; vice-president of the Istituto Alti Studi Carlo Bo. He has been (independent) Councillor for Culture and International Relations of the Municipality of Milan; President of the Brera Academy of Milan.

Culture policy, city administration, publishing and information.
