CURRENT POSITION:
Paola Carbone has been teaching at IULM University since 1992 and she is now Associate Professor (2005). In 2014, she obtained the National Scientific Habilitation (Abilitazione) as full professor (10/L1)
She is member of the Board of the Doctoral Degree in “ Visual and Media Studies” and Member of the Joint Teacher-Student Commission (Commissione Paritetica - Degree in Television, Cinema and New Media).
She is affiliated to the Department of Human Studies
RESEARCH LINES:
Her fields of research include: contemporary fiction in English; electronic literature and culture; literatures in English (in particular Indian literature in English).
Since 2005, she has been a member of the international research group on law and literature coordinated by Prof. Daniela Carpi (University of Verona) and Prof. Pier Giuseppe Monateri (University of Turin). The group received a PRIN grant for the research project "Equity and Law" (2005-07). Carbone has given her contribution to the research with essays on the relationship between: law and human rights; law and image; law and bioethics; literature, law and fashion; literature, law and sport; literature, law and humour.

At present, she is working on an interdisciplinary project called “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Ontology between Literary Visions, Technological Perspectives and Legal Challenges”, Progetto speciale d'Ateneo (IULM University special research 2019) with her colleagues Andrea Carignani, Vanessa Gemmo, Giuseppe Rossi.
