In the second half of the year the receptions will be held, by appointment to be agreed by e-mail, on Friday at 2 pm.Maria Tilde Bettetini is a professor of Aesthetics and Philosophy of Images, she has taught History of Medieval Philosophy at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. She is delegated by the Rector for Equal Opportunities and Libraries, with the task of representing the IULM University also at the Library Commission within the Conference of Rectors of Italian Universities. Together with representatives of five other universities in Milan, he founded the Interuniversity Research Centre Culture di Genere, of which he was a member. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Study of Medieval Thought and of the Italian Philosophical Society - Lombard section.
He has been a member of the Doctoral School in Visual and Media Studies since its inception.
After studying History of Philosophy - a degree in Ancient Philosophy (on the Republic of Plato, speaker: Prof. Giovanni Reale) and a PhD on the concept of measure in Augustine of Hippo - she devoted herself to the study of the status of image and fiction in its various forms, from deception to artistic fiction. He has recently applied the results of his research on iconoclasm to the tragic topicality of terrorism and conflict in the Middle East.
He has translated and commented on works by Augustine of Hippo (including the Confessions, Biblioteca della Pléiade, Gallimard-Einaudi 2000). He collaborates with the cultural insert of Sole24ore and directs the two series of Bompiani's philosophy, Il Pensiero Occidentale and Testi a Fronte.
