Alessandro D'Avenia opened the cycle The Strategies of the Word
On Feb. 13, 2025 in Auditorium Alessandro D'Avenia opened the cycle The Strategies of the Word, curated by Cristina Dell'Acqua, with the show "Resist Heart!"
"The word is a powerful lady," wrote Gorgias in the fifth century B.C., "who with a very small and invisible body performs the most divine works": that is why learning to use it is a useful strategy for everyone.
Alessandro D'Avenia's show Resisti cuore!, staged this evening, kicked off the cycle The Strategies of the Word, curated by Cristina Dell'Acqua. A guided rereading of the epic work from multiple points of view: as a scholar of classical literature who has elected it as his main area of interest, as a teacher who has been promoting its integral reading aloud for years, and as an intellectual skilled in interpreting the spirit of the times. Charm and profound sense of a great classic, mother-book. Poem of return as creation of destiny. Narrative of deeds as gestation. Mystery, the unknown, wonder. The risk: coming out of self to become authentic. Coming into the light, making oneself alive to oneself. If we have lost the joy of our odyssey, rereading the Odyssey is the best way to "come back."
The cycle continues with:
march 14, 6 p.m. - Room 146, Daniele Mencarelli:The words of passion and the novel
april 16, 5 p.m. - Room 146, Franco Arminio:The words of poetry
