Open lesson by Professor Franco Moretti

On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 Franco Moretti, Professor emeritus at Stanford University, will hold an open lecture as part of the PhD program in Visual and Media Studies.

The lecture, introduced by the greetings of the Rector, Professor Gianni Canova, and the Coordinator of the PhD in Visual and Media Studies, Professor Vincenzo Trione, will have as its title “Simulare l’intreccio: un nuovo modello per lo studio della letteratura?” (Simulate the plot: a new model for the study of literature?), and will be moderated by Professor Andrea Miconi.

A world-famous scholar, known for his methodological innovation and author of famous essays (Opere mondo, 1994; Atlante del romanzo europeo, 1997; La letteratura vista da lontano, 2005; Distant reading, 2013; Il borghese, 2017; Un paese lontano, 2019), Moretti will present the latest model he is working on in the field of computational stylistics.

The lecture, open to the public, will take place on Wednesday 29 January, from 11:00 to 13:30, in the Sala dei 146, IULM 6 building.
