Organization
For more than 20 years, IULM University has been pursuing and developing competencies in retail education and research.
The great success of its educational projects is based on a long incubation period and an intense research activity, the results of which are visible through the publication of articles in international scientific journals (e.g. Journal of Retailing, Journal of Retailing & Consumer Research, International Review of Retail, Distribution and Consumer Research), through monographic volumes and through the participation of Prof. Luca Pellegrini and Prof. Francesco Massara in the boards of international journals. This has allowed the field to grow and specialise attracting professional managers, associations and companies that have contributed to the success of numerous research and teaching projects.
The Monitoring Centre was created in a context (that of IULM University), which is particularly sensitive to the issue of appreciation of human capital in retail companies, as it has long been dedicated to the training of resources that build their professional careers in this field.
The Monitoring Centre has a governing body that sets the annual schedule of activities.
The research and dissemination activities of Observatory's contents are the result of interaction between the Academy and the professionals who bring the meetings and discussions to life.
