What is CERC

  • The Centre for Employee Relations and Communication (CERC) is the research center of the Università IULM focused on the topics of employee relations and communication
  • Its purpose is to develop and spread the culture of organizational relations and employee communication management

  • It carries out research projects, dissemination activities, education and training, and consultancy projects, from a perspective of exchange and debate between the academic and the business world

  • It leverages the support of an international Scientific Committee which ensures its connection with the main international centers of excellence

  • It hosts a multi-company research group, the Working Group Employee Communication (WG_EC), that operates and renews itself on a biannual basis and is open to the participation of a limited group of companies

  • It is part of the Department of Business, Law, Economics and Consumer Behavior "Carlo A. Ricciardi" of the Università IULM

  • It was established in 2016 in an experimental form, as an evolution of the Internal Communication Laboratory active at Università IULM since 2009. In 2019 it was then institutionalized as a University research center


  • It hosts a multi-company research group, the Working Group Employee Communication (WG_EC), dedicated to a two-year special research project on a topic agreed with the partner companies.

  • It carries out research projects on topics related to the management of organizational relationships and employee communication

  • Its objective is to draw up the study “The state of the art on employee communication in Italian companies” on a periodic basis, aimed at depicting the state of the art and the development trends of the function in Italy. The first edition of the study was published in 2019

  • It organizes events open to the public and produces publications of scientific and educational nature, in order to pursue its mission of developing the culture of organizational relations and employee communication management in Italy and at an international level

  • It is committed to education and training activities for the development of future generations of experts in this area and for the professional growth of those involved in organizational relations and employee communication management in organizations

  • It carries out consultancy projects for organizations with specific knowledge and intervention needs in the thematic areas of the centre
