In his photographs, the human figure is present in all its physicality, often sensual. Clothes never give the impression of lying on mere mannequins. A sense of beauty is evoked, very close to classical art, with the study of poses and the sense of three-dimensionality. This is probably a legacy from his homeland: Giovanni Squatriti, born in 1984, is from Calabria and like his most famous countryman, Gianni Versace, he carries with him that iconographic universe of blue horizons, classical architecture and statues, the Mediterranean freshness of Magna Graecia.
Giovanni Squatriti regularly collaborates with some of the most important national and international fashion magazines. For some of the biggest luxury and high jewelry brands, he takes care of their advertising and editorial image. In 2013 Louis Vuitton, in collaboration with Cuadro Gallery in Dubai, entrusted Squatriti with a magnificent exhibition to mark the brand's 30th anniversary in the Middle East. His photographs have also been exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Galleria Sozzani and Palazzo Morando, both in Milan. His iconic, brightly colored images span fashion trends, beauty, celebrity portraits and continuous cultural references of art and photography history.
