The course is divided, according to the fundamental issues of Public Affairs and Institutional Communication, into 4 didactic modules entirely revised each year to take account of the lively evolution of the subject.
A general overview of institutions and decision-making processes will be provided, offering an overview of the legal framework, the elements of parliamentary law, the territorial institutional levels. The highly professionalizing imprint of the course is already evident from the second module, which was designed as a regulatory drafting laboratory. The course will introduce participants to the highly topical topic of advocacy: a process that aims to give public support to an idea, a behavior model, a specific initiative. In particular, all topics related to lobbying will be addressed, analyzing specific cases, framing the different types of lobbying and defining their new frontiers.
Thanks to the professionalizing imprint of the course, participants will be able to fully understand:
- how to map interest groups and pressure groups,
- how to manage stakeholder engagement,
- how to use big data and business intelligence for Public affairs;
- how to structure an effective lobbying plan.
The final project will test the participants in the professional course, who will be involved in drafting a lobbying plan, putting into practice what has been learned during the course.
Participants of the course will be reserved (optional) participation in a soft skills assessment and skills development program to bridge the areas of weakness that have emerged, also with the support of a certified coach.
In order to formalize the enrollment, it is necessary to carry out a motivational interview with the Scientific Director of the course, Prof. Stefania Romenti.
Educational aims
The course aims to train managers and professionals on the subject of Public Affairs and Institutional Communication. Participants will then be provided with useful tools to better understand the institutions and interpret the dynamics behind the decision-making processes. After deepening the legal framework governing the sector and after an overview of the European situation in this area, candidates will be introduced to lobbying activities and to the use of professional tools to develop specific skills in Public Affairs and Institutional Communication
