Linguaskill test: regulation 2022/2023

Linguaskill is the English language proficiency self-assessment test for all skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing). Download the 2022/2023 regulations here.

These Regulations govern student access to the Linguaskill test for A.Y. 2022/2023.

What is Linguaskill?

It is a self-assessment test of English language proficiency for all skills (Listening, Reading, Speaking, Writing) that allows its assessment according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) A1-B2 European standard scale or higher levels.

Since it is developed within the Cambridge Assessment system, it is normally accepted as a level attestation.

Who is it aimed at?

The following are eligible to take the test

  • students regularly enrolled, for the a.y. 2022/2023, current or out of course, in the Bachelor of Arts and Tourism Faculty and the Faculty of Communication who have passed the Professional English III / Professional English for tourism III exam;
  • students enrolled, for A.Y. 2022/2023, in the second year in or out of course, in the Master's Degree Courses of the Faculty of Arts and Tourism and the Faculty of Communication;
  • the students regularly enrolled, for the a.y. 2022/2023, in the last year in or out of course, in the Degree Courses of the Faculty of Interpreting and Translation, if interested;
  • undergraduates of the third session of the a.y. 2021/2022 (March 2023).

When is it held and where?

The next testing session has been set on the following days: March 9 and 10, 2023.

The test will be held in Computer Rooms 1 and 2 (IULM 1, third floor) and/or Computer Rooms 524 and 525 (IULM 5, second floor).

Places available per session?

150 seats are available for the March 2023 session.

How much does it cost?

The test has a cost of € 130 that will be paid by the student at the time of enrollment, by accessing SCRIGNO Pago Facile at the following link (Log in as "Anonymous User" > indicate "spontaneous payment" > select "IULM University" as the Institution, "test linguaskill" as the reason for payment, amount € 130, reason for payment NAME-COGNOME-MATRICOLA-Test Linguaskill).

The amount may be, once only, partially refunded in the amount of € 80 with credit on the University Card (badge) to students who achieve in the test an overall score of not less than 179 on the Cambridge English Scale (level equal to "B2 full").

Students who do not achieve the aforementioned result cannot be reimbursed even partially for the cost of the test.

How to register?

Students who intend to take the test must register by filling out the form available at this link by March 1, 2023. When filling out the form, the student must declare that he or she meets the requirements for enrollment.

If there are more places available, the allocation will be made in order of payment date.

If the test cannot be held due to lack of available places any amount already paid will be refunded in full.

Communication of results

The result is sent via email to the student within a few days of taking the test.
