University of Padua 1981. Degree with honours in modern language and literature/ English: dissertation on T.S. Eliot and Eugenio Montale-poetry, poetics, and criticism;
University of Venice 1984-86. ABD. Ph.D. program in English and American literature;  supervisor prof. Sergio Perosa;

Comparative literature: English and American literature of the XIX and XX c. in relationship to modern European literatures (mainly Italian) and with classical literature, Greek and Latin.
American travel literature of XIX e XX c. in particular writings on New England and on Cape Cod.
Relationship literature, anthropology, mythology and comparative religions.
Relationship literature and Arts: music, melodrama, painting, sculpture.
Poetry: literary and poetic translation.
