Admissions requirements

Admittance examinations to the master in Communication for International Relations MICRI will be held from April to October 2017, in Milan.
Candidates will be evaluated strictly focusing on inclinations and personal attitudes, ability to work in groups and to communicate actively, in order to create a strongly motivated team.
A basic requirement for all international students, in order to be admitted to an Italian University Master Course, is that they hold a college or university degree equivalent to a three-year first level University Italian degree and that have successfully completed the equivalent number of years of education as an Italian graduate: at least 15 years of study (from primary school to university graduation).
Compulsory: very good knowledge of Italian and English language.

Application process

The application process is made up of 4 stages:

  1. On line applications (see below)
  2. Pre-enrolment fee: a payment of a € 100,00 admission fee is required (pre-enrolment fee), this amount will be deductible from the first installment applied upon enrolment. No refund will be due if candidates should not proceed to enrolment or should they not pass the selection.
  3. Required documentation sent to: Università IULM, Segreteria Studenti (see below)
  4. Interview with the Master scientific board. After having proceeded with the application, the applicant will be contacted to be informed of his/her eligibility to continue the selection process to the final phase (last stage of evaluation), which will consist of an interview with the master scientific board.

On line application

Applications can be submitted through: http://servizionline.iulm.it/

You have to register first, and then access to your personal area, get into “segreteria” and then “preiscrizioni".

The application is confirmed only after:

  • The on-line registration of the student has been completed (http://servizionline.iulm.it/).
    The Application form, printable after having completed the on line pre-enrolment registration, is called “dichiarazione sostitutiva di certificazione”. It certifies the bachelor degree achieved and the given exams and it has status of legal declaration in Italy (called self-certification);
  • Pre- enrolment fee payment has been credited on University account (this usually takes at least 4 week days).This payment must be done through the payment form, printable after having completed the application (MAV);
  • Having sent the following required documentation:
    • application form (dichiarazione sostitutiva di certificazione)
    • a copy of the identity card or passport
    • a copy of pre- enrolment fee payment receipt;
    • curriculum vitae
    • a copy of degree certificate with academic transcript providing a comprehensive list of examinations taken (or if students have not graduated yet, academic transcript providing a comprehensive list of examinations taken);
  • Optional: certificate of Italian and English knowledge (IELTS or TOEFL)

All these documents should be delivered by mail, through recorded delivery letter with advice of delivery to the person concerned to: Università IULM, Segreteria Studenti, Ufficio Master – Via Carlo Bo, 1– 20143, Milano.

Please Note
Following recently issued regulations, all international students (EU and non EU) who think to fulfill the basic requirements for application, can apply and have access to selection process.

Only students considered eligible to enter the Master, and after selection interview, will be required to present, in addition to the above listed documents, a statement called Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco which is compulsory for enrollment. (see below)

Dichiarazione di valore in loco

The Dichiarazione di valore in loco (DVL) is the official document required to finalize enrollment, after having positively passed the admission process.
A DVL is issued by the competent Italian authority (Consulate or Embassy) of the country which awarded the degree and provides a short description of your academic or professional qualification.
It states that your degree is valuable as a first-level Italian degree, specifies the total number of school years (at least 15) and the full name of the university where the degree has been taken.

The DVL must be complete with all the below listed documents:

  1. Dichiarazione di valore in loco statement. It must state: the full name of the university where the degree was taken, that the degree in question is of equal value to a first-level Italian degree, and it must also specify the overall number of school years completed (minimum 15 from primary to high school).
    DVLs are issued in Italian when presenting to the competent Italian authority (Consulate or Embassy) of the country which awarded the degree an original/certified copy of your secondary school diploma, university degree certificate (or university diploma or equivalent qualification) and transcript of exams
  2. University degree certificate: original plus the translation into Italian, authenticated by the Italian Consulate of the country in which the degree was awarded;
  3. Transcript of exams: original plus the translation into Italian, authenticated by the Italian Consulate of the country in which the degree was awarded;
  4. High school diploma: original plus the translation into Italian, authenticated by the Italian Consulate of the country in which the degree was awarded.

In order to enroll at IULM, the DVL must be complete with all the above listed documents that have to be received and checked by the University Board.

Application deadlines: October 31, 2016

Please Note
Direction could decide to close the pre-registrations at a sufficient number of pre-registered students. In case Master course won’t start for any reason, Direction could decide to register the candidate in a waiting list in order to be admitted to the following edition.

It is highly recommended for non-EU students to carry out the registration as soon as possible. (for documents required for the admission of students with foreign qualification: see  details above)

Tuition fee

Tuition fee for EU- students: 10.560 €
Application tax €100,00 (cut of from I enrollment fee)
Fee will be divided into three installments:
I installment € 4.300,00 on enrolment
II installment € 4.000,00 within January, 16th, 2017
III installment € 2.260,00 within March, 27th, 2017

Tuition fee for NON-EU students: 12.672€
Application tax €100,00 (cut of from I enrollment fee)
Fee will be divided into three installments:
I installment € 4.500,00 on enrolment
II installment € 4.300,00 within January, 16th, 2017
III installment € 3.872 within March, 27th, 2017

Application tax is cut from I enrollment fee, if the student will confirm the enrollment.
No refund is due to students that do not confirm the enrollment and to students that fail selection.

* To I installment € 16,00 will be added as Italian Tax
** To III installment € 16,00 will be added in order to get the Master Diploma

How to pay

All installments of the tuition fee must be payed trough the MAV that has to be downloaded from the on-line secretary personal page.

On-line payment:
MICRI pre-enrolment procedure fee (100€) and all installments of the tuition fee can be paid on line through the web site https://scrigno.popso.it/PagoFacile/servlet/SeBenvenuto of Banca Popolare di Sondrio.

For paying the admission fee on-line:

  • Print the MAV form . Students obtain a PIN number to be used to enter the on-line payment system
  • Select “Utente anonimo” on the web site https://scrigno.popso.it/PagoFacile/servlet/SeBenvenuto
  • Choose “Pagamento con avviso (predeterminato)” and then select “MAV. Elettronico”
  • Insert the PIN number and fill in with personal data. At the end select “Prosegui”;Select a method of payment (internet Banking, for those clients of Banca Popolare di Sondrio; Credit Card or Bankpass Web for clients of other banks)

Late payment:
The delay right for delayed installments payment amounts to € 75,00
