In the second semester a.y. 2018/19 receptions will be held on Monday at 12 o'clock except February 18 in classroom 2232- Iulm 2 second floor.
Pupil of professors E. Bazzarelli and B. Meriggi, graduated in Russian Language and Literature at the State University of Milan with a thesis on the critical fortune of Dostoevsky in Germany.
With an annual scholarship he perfected his knowledge of the Russian language at the Moscow State University (MGU). He was a former researcher at the State University of Milan, and is currently associate professor of Russian Language and Literature at the IULM University, where he held courses in Russian language history and literature. During this academic year he is involved in the teaching of the Russian language and culture, as well as the history of the icon.
He is a member of the College of Teachers of the Doctorate of Slavistics of the University of Turin.
Main areas of scientific interest
For a long time he has cultivated studies on Dostoevsky and Slavonic thought (N. Danilevsky, K. Leont'ev, Vl. Solov'ëv) and issues related to Russian identity.
Gabriella Schiaffino then dealt with writers between the First and Second World Wars, both those who remained in the Soviet Union (Zamjatin, Mandel'štam, Bulgakov) and those who emigrated (Nabokov). She has been engaged in researching and re-reading those who already in the nineteenth century wrote about the tragic Caucasian question that rekindled after the collapse of the Soviet Union (Pushkin, Bestužev-Marlinskij, Lermontov, Tolstoy). He is currently working on Russian literature in Siberia.
