Vittorio Rifranti was born in Milan in 1966. After the high school degree in Modern Literature at the State University of Milan. During high school, attending a school film forum, he discovered his passion for cinema. He made his first short films in Super 8, which were presented in various exhibitions, and attended Ipotesi Cinema, the workshop created by Ermanno Olmi. In the meantime, with the medium-length film "L'attesa" he received several awards. He then filmed the documentary "I giorni liberi" (Free Days), which received the award from the Italian Federation of Film Clubs. Since 1999 he has alternated his activity as a director with that of a teacher of direction, filmmaker, history of cinema and cinematographic language in various didactic realities. In 2004 he made "Lo sguardo nascosto" and made his debut at the cinema in 2007 with "Tagliare le parti in grigio", which won the Pardo as best first film at the Locarno Festival and was presented at several international festivals.
